5 Must See Movies This Independence Day

1. Mangal Pandey

When the new cartridge bullet was introduced by the British army un 1857, it terrorised the Indian Army as it was lubricated with animal fat and had to be nibbled at the end in order to use it. This instigated Mangal Pandey, an Indian soldier, to attack the the British officers which led to the First War of Indian Independence in 1857. Aamir Khan plays the role of Mangal Pandey brilliantly.

2. Gandhi

Mahatma Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Ben Kingsley played the role of Gandhi and this movie depicts the life and story of Mahatma Gandhi.

3. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose: The forgotten Hero

Even now, we have not forgotten the dialogue by Netaji where he says, ‘Give me blood and I will give you freedom’. Subhash Chandra Bose’s defiant patriotism made him a hero in India and in this movie the role of Subhas Chandra Bose was played by Sachin Khedkar.

5. LOC Kargil

This movie tell the story of soldiers of the Indian Army try to locate their patrol officers after they learn that Pakistani troops are crossing the Line of Control. A fierce battle then ensues between the two nations.
